(Photo: Lily Henkel/FSView) 6 CONNECT TWEET LINKEDIN COMMENTEMAILMORE Florida State University goes beyond giving students the opportunity to earn an education and get a professional degree; through the FSU Career Center, students can perfect their resumes, hone their interviewing skills and be guided through first contact with potential employers. helpful hintsThis past week, the FSU Career Center has taken the extra step by bringing the employers to the students through Career Fair Week. Aiming to provide students with a convenient environment to explore opportunities and connect with employers from a variety of industries, the Career Fair Week featured several events focusing on networking and learning. According to Career Center Ambassador Olivia Petracelli, the Career Fair Week is the biggest event of the year for the Career Center. For me, Im here as a junior doing my internship, and I think thats an advantage for me because when Im a senior and Im trying to get a job, Ill have the nerves out of the way and ill know what to expect, explains Petracelli. The week kicked off on Tuesday with Engineering Day, an all-day event located at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. Big-brand employers such as General Motors, State Farm Insurance and nearly 100 more met with students interested in technical, computer science and engineering fields. Following Engineering Day, the Career Center partnered with the Student Veterans Center to bring student-veterans a career fair of their own at Veterans Networking Night. The Engineering Day and Veterans Networking Night all led up to the largest event of the week on Thursday: Seminole Futures.
